Stargazing
The word 'Tyrrell' in Lake Tyrrell comes from the Wergaia word for 'sky', a language spoken by the Boorong clan. They were the indigenous Australians of this region who, when first discovered, were already accomplished stargazers with sophisticated knowledge in astronomy.
How lucky they were to have such a beautiful lake for studying the stars!
After many attempts to catch a clear night sky this winter - and on a weekend - the best one had to be outshone by the moon.
